My father again told me not to bother him and to do something else. He's got a lot on his mind and I'm in his way. I started walking through the empty quarters as I always do when I'm bored. These small rooms have been empty for a long time, but their personal belongings are still there. I like to look at the mess they leave behind, it feels like a frozen clock. I walked into the nearest empty cabin and looked around. The floor was covered with scribbled sheets of paper that looked like grass and the floor like the ground that I missed so much. As I stepped Inside I tripped over something hard underneath the sheets. Picking up a small but thick notebook, I examined it and decided to take a peek. Opening the notebook to the first page, it said, "Belongs to Dr. William." Sitting down on the empty bed, I began to read. "Day one: Today we all boarded the ship and started our voyage. To be honest, I'm very excited because it's my first time on a ship as a doctor. I hope everything goes smoothly and we get to America without incident. Cause I've heard and read a lot about shipwrecks that happen to sailors. My parents didn't want to let me come here, but I was able to get on this ship because it is my vocation to treat and help people. Day Two: On day one, I didn't have much time to write about sailing as all the commotion was wearing me down. To be brief, many people saw us off and waved as we sailed away from the dock. Towards the end of the day I got to know all the crew members over a mug of beer that brought us together. After a couple or three cups of alcohol everyone started dancing and singing and I fell asleep in my cabin after the first drink. An old friend of mine, the captain of this ship, told me all this. I trust him, but sometimes he exaggerates a lot. Today I continued to get in touch with all the passengers to get to know them better, which will help me treat them. I don't know how our voyage will go, but I hope for the best. Day three: It's actually not as bad as I expected. The sea is calm and almost no one gets seasick. I helped some of the children on board as their vestibular apparatus is not as trained as experienced sailors, I was also sometimes nauseous but it was tolerable. Some kids were quiet but most told me their life stories while I was helping them. I am sure they will soon get used to it and everything will be fine. Guess I'm really enjoying messing around with these little pranksters, I never thought I'd enjoy it so much.”
